The GP Job Costing module is part of the accounting system and can be
interfaced with other GP modules. It provides accounting of estimated and
actual costs by job or by job phase. It provides optional interfaces with
Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Ledger systems. It
can post revenue to jobs and phases from the accounts receivable system. It
posts labor hours and labor costs to jobs and phases from the payroll module.
It posts material, labor, and equipment charges to jobs and phases from the
accounts payable system invoices and material requisitions. It provides for
warranty accounting as a separate phase of each job. It automatically creates
overhead, finished goods, and work-in-progress entries for posting to the
general ledger system. It automatically allocates overhead based on labor
hours, labor dollars or material costs. The user can make parameter selection
on reports by job, phase, and manager. It prints a wide variety of reports
including: jobs listing, job detail report job profitability report, billing
summary, and overhead allocation. It processes cost adjustments and maintains a
job file. It provides password protection for data security.
